A PDF file can be any length, contain any number of fonts and images and is designed to enable the creation and transfer of printer-ready output.Įach PDF file encapsulates a complete description of a 2D document (and, with the advent of Acrobat 3D, embedded 3D documents) that includes the text, fonts, images and 2D vector graphics that compose the document. PDF is a file format developed by Adobe Systems for representing documents in a manner that is separate from the original operating system, application or hardware from where it was originally created. The file format was created upon the Open Packaging Conventions (OPC) standard (ISO 29500, Part 2) and a number of it's components such as images, macros and some of the embedded objects are stored in binary form. The VSDX file contains two elements to it, much like the DOCX, XLSX and PPTX formats - a Zip archive package and XML content. The VSDX version added new features such as Co-Authoring and also now offers the ability to view your VSDX files natively in Internet Browsers. The VSDX format was introduced in Microsoft's Visio 2013 program and is also used by Microsoft's Visio 2016, at the time of writing the latest version. Microsoft Visio is a diagram and vector graphics application.
